Gillian Richardson

BA (Hons) Fine Art LBIPP

Biography

Gillian has been working as a fine art landscape photographer in Pembrokeshire for over 30 years. She was born in Northumberland and grew up in North Yorkshire, where she was captivated by the wild moorland scenery. The landscape of her surroundings has always been a great influence on her.

After taking a Fine Art Degree at University of London, Goldsmiths College, specialising in Sculpture, she followed a postgraduate course at Hornsey College of Art in London, studying Environmental Studies and Architectural Design. She taught in London at Croydon College of Art, and then moved to Cumbria, to follow a teaching career in Art and Design. Living in Cumbria, the Lake District landscape continued to be an important part of her artistic expression, and photography became an increasing part of her visual language.

Following marriage and a move to Pembrokeshire in 1983, she has become an established artist and photographer.

Gillian is married with two children and lives in the Pembrokeshire village of Spittal,  where she has a small Studio Gallery displaying a range of her work, and greetings cards, which may also be purchased. Visitors by appointment, please.

Gillian gained her BTEC HND in Photography following studies 1996-98 at Coleg Sir Gar Carmarthen College, Carmarthen (previously CCTA), and has been a qualified member of the British Institute of Professional Photography since 1999, when she gained her Licentiateship (LBIPP).
